Thanksgiving

On this Thanksgiving I think it's important to think about the things that we are thankful for. With all the talk of recession and the economy we are constantly reminded about what we may lack and our culture focuses us on what we lack. It's ironic that today we celebrate what we are thankful for and tomorrow, Black Friday, we celebrate at the feet of consumerism. The marketers and advertisers tell us all the things we "need" and manipulate us into seeing things as "good deals" instead of what they are, wasteful and excessive.
I count it fortunate that I have a good job, one that I thoroughly enjoy and pays well enough to live on. I have two cats that keep us entertained and my Macbook Pro and iPhone that are great tools for home and work.
Having said all that I am most thankful for the love of my Savior Jesus and the lessons that He is continuously teaching us. He gave me the greatest gift my Wife Jaime. Through all the struggles and triumphs of this life she has been there supporting me and keeping me accountable. I would not be here if it was not for my Savior and my Wife.
